I was inspired by Extra Pack Of Peanuts Podcast to make this list, hopefully, next year I’ll post it earlier.
#8 Peach Chicken
My mom makes it every year for my birthday. Yes, I’d rather have this than go out to eat. It’s chicken and pasta in a pink creamy peach sauce. SO GOOD!
#7 WVRST
While the bratwurst is good that’s not only why it’s on my list. The resturant has this hip, laidback pre-night out vibe, the drink selection is massive, the bartender was knowlegable, and it’s so cheap you can get seconds of everything. I loved our night especially beacuse it was the start to our road trip.
#6 Bite into Maine
I’m not sure it’s the best lobster roll I’ve ever had but you can’t beat the view!
#5 Peekytoe Provisons
The best seafood chowder I’ve ever had, better than Seattle. The perfect way to recharge after hiking all day.
#4 Farm-to-Table cider pairing dinner in the finger lakes
#3 Onigiri at Ithaca Farmers Market
I was so excited to find this! It was fresh and made me yearn for Japan.
#2 Irazu Costa Rican Resturant
For my mom’s birthday weekend trip we went to lunch here on Saturday. I had an amazing coconut horchata. We shared family style. The empanadas weere so good and the plaintains were the best I’ve ever had. I’d love to go back. We went with some family friends after walking the 606. It was such a good day.
#1 Tanta
Saturday night of my mom’s birthday weekend trip we went to Tanta with my Aunt. I picked Tanta because my mom has always wanted to go to Peru. It’s one of the best resturants I’ve ever ben to. The drinks were amazing, I coulkd live off the ceviche, the fish was so fresh, and they had so many kinds of corn I’ve never seen before. It was the first time I had a night out with my mom in Chicago. It was so much fun. She and my Aunt were relaxed and reminiscing about when they lived downtown, it was lovely to see.
