On our first day in England, we stopped in Lavenham on our way to Aldeburgh. Lavenham is one of the best-preserved medieval villages in England. I heard of Lavenham because the De Vere House was filmed as Harry Potter’s first home. Most of the scenes in Godric’s Hollows were filmed in Lavenham. Lavenham was a wealthy wool town in the 15th and 16th centuries.
After lunch, we went to St Peter and St Paul’s Church. It was surprising to see such a grand church in a small village.
This quaint town was a nice break from driving.
