I wanted to fly business class on my first trip using points to fly. The Flying Blue program is a fairly easy program to book even if you’re booking through Virgin like I did. I chose KLM so I could get a KLM Delft house for my mom. I had a great experience, although it would’ve been better flying a newer business class or flying with someone I knew.
Style
The first thing I noticed was the Delft theme was incorporated into everything. It was so cute!
Food
The food was very good. I had a cauliflower curry soup that was just the bowl of cozy that I needed to help me wind down for the night. The chocolate and cheese were delicious. For breakfast I had a souffle that was unbelievably amazing!
Seats
This was an older plane, so the configuration was 2-2-2.
I would of preferred a seat by myself or to seat next to a travel partner but I did like my neighbor. She was a nice older lady but she didn’t speak English. She showed me how to work the side compartment. While I showed her where the menus were and how to work the headphones provided.
I stayed up later than I wanted to because I had the aisle seat and didn’t want to lay my seat flat until I was sure she was done using the bathroom for most of the night.
The bed was comfortable and I had a good if not long enough sleep. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to stay up until I boarded my night train at 10:30 pm without my business class seat.
Conclusion
I would fly this again but I would only fly the older business class again with a travel partner.
